Why the products matter as much as the process
You can follow a perfect cleaning process, but if the solutions going into the fibers are not right for the material and the mess, the result will not last — and on a delicate rug it can cause damage.
That is why we standardize on a short list of proven, professional-grade solutions and match the right one to each job.
- Deep-cleaning that lifts soil without harsh scrubbing
- pH-balanced chemistry that protects wool and natural dyes
- A neutral rinse that leaves no sticky residue behind
- Enzymes and oxygen boosters that target stains at the source
- Low-odor, low-residue formulas that are safe once dry
The products you'll see us reach for
These cover the vast majority of the carpets and rugs we clean across Chicagoland. Swipe or use the arrows to see what each one is and why we use it.
Every solution has a job to do
Most carpet and rug cleaning comes down to a handful of solution types. Here is what each one is for — and when we reach for it.
Pre-sprays
Loosen embedded soil and traffic-lane grime before extraction, so dirt rinses out instead of being scrubbed in.
Extraction rinse
Neutralizes the pre-spray and flushes out residue, leaving fibers balanced, soft, and slower to resoil.
Enzyme treatments
Digest organic messes — pet urine, vomit, and protein spills — at the source instead of masking them.
Oxidizers
Oxygen and peroxide-powered boost for coffee, red wine, yellowing, and browning that ordinary cleaning leaves behind.
Solvent spotters
Targeted removers for the sticky, oily trouble spots: tar, gum, adhesive, and grease.
Deodorizers
Neutralize odors at the source and leave a clean, fresh finish — no heavy perfume cover-up.
Disinfectants & sanitizers
Reduce germs and bacteria on high-use, high-traffic surfaces for a healthier home.
Solutions for oriental rugs
Milder, pH-balanced formulas (about 5.5–8.5) chosen to protect wool and natural dyes on fine and antique rugs.
How we match the solution to your project
There is no single best cleaner — only the best one for your fiber, your stain, and how much wear it faces. Here is the quick logic we follow.
| If your rug has… | We typically reach for… | Because… |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee, red wine, yellowing or browning | Oxygen / peroxide oxidizer | It breaks the stain down instead of bleaching the fiber. |
| Pet urine, vomit or organic messes | Enzyme treatment | Enzymes digest the source so the odor doesn't return. |
| Tar, gum, grease or adhesive | Solvent spotter | Oily, sticky messes need a solvent, not a water-based cleaner. |
| General soil and traffic lanes | Pre-spray + extraction rinse | Loosen the soil, then flush it out and rebalance the fibers. |
| Lingering odors after cleaning | Deodorizer (plus enzyme if organic) | It neutralizes odor at the source, not just on the surface. |
| A wool or oriental rug | Mild, pH-balanced solutions (5.5–8.5) | Gentle chemistry protects natural fibers and dyes. |
